Where We Come From
Avid Water Systems traces its roots to 1934, when Charlie Sidell founded a water treatment operation in Fort Wayne, Indiana with one employee: Emmett Culligan. The company grew through changes in ownership and location, eventually relocating to Churubusco, Indiana, where it expanded into what became the largest supplier of water treatment equipment to the plumbing and well supply trade.
That heritage of deep industry knowledge and wholesale focus remains central to who Avid is today. When Franklin Electric Co., Inc. acquired First Sales LLC, the parent company of Avid Water Systems, it brought with it the brand strength, infrastructure, and commitment to quality that has defined Avid for generations.
